User and Server Side

The user and server side both affects the performance of a website. The user side focuses on our side of the ISP connection whereas the server side consists of what happens on the server side of the ISP connection.

User Side

There are different speeds of the PC which affects the performance of a website. The bandwidth is the width of the pipe enabling how much data is transmitted through and is measured in Megabits per second. Thruport is the amount of data that the pipe actually travels down your pipe.

PC influences how quickly the website functions, the browser also affects this. Browsers such as Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Opera and many more, influences your experience when exploring the net from the way the browser is written/ coded and how up-to-date it is.

Cookies are temporary files and the codes that are stored in the computer to restore information when visiting the site again when there is lots of them it can, it can slow down the browser as it has to check lots of cookies which needs to locate to the website visited.

Cache Memory
Short term memory, the amount of cache memory in the processor will make a difference to how fast the browser works. Temporary storage is a cache memory, when browsing to restore it back when it is active again.

Server Side
Bandwidth of the web service connection makes a difference.How slow it is on the other side for congestion. Bandwidth can vary through the number of users accessing it at the same time.
